In this video, we take a closer look at the upcoming „Theater im Prater“ in Vienna, which is set to open in 2027. With 1,800 seats, the new theater will nearly double the seating capacity of existing musical theaters in Vienna. This larger space will allow for international shows that the „Theater an der Wien“ and „Ronacher“ are too small to accommodate. The project is being led by ATG Entertainment, which is known for successful global productions like „Starlight Express,“ „Moulin Rouge,“ „West Side Story,“ and „Cats.“ The theater will be located in the Prater, one of Vienna’s most famous areas, with excellent public transport connections and a variety of nearby hotels, restaurants, and entertainment options.

In Vienna’s Prater, Koidl’s new roller coaster “Wiener Looping” is coming to life: This BigDipper coaster by Mack Rides even crosses a road and the neighboring Geisterbahn, which had to give up part of its facade. Spanning 518 meters in length, reaching 31 meters in height, and featuring a 92-degree drop along with elements like a Banana Roll, Loop, and Dive Loop, it promises plenty of thrills. The final piece of track still needs to be installed, so the first test runs will have to wait a little longer. Next door, the Theater im Prater is under construction—a major musical venue set to open in 2027.
